The Manchester United pair certainly both liked scoring goals.
During the coverage of the recent Champions League game between Juventus and Real Madrid one of the pundits watching the game certainly made a social faux pas.
Former Blackburn Rovers defender Michel Salgado, ex-Liverpool hero Luis Garcia, Manchester United legend Andy Cole and Barcelona hero Eric Abidal all watched the game for beIN Sports coverage of the game.
The Frenchman posted a message on Twitter after the game, but unfortunately confused Andy Cole with his great Manchester United strike partner Dwight Yorke.
Abidal, who has twice battled cancer and retired from football after a short spell with Olympiakos in 2015, was obviously slightly mortified with the mistake and deleted the Tweet shortly after.
But Cole has seen the funny side of things.
He posted this on Instagram yesterday, a message for the former French international.
Cole and Yorke formed one of the deadliest partnerships in Manchester United history - helping the club to a historic treble in the 1998-99 season - scoring 53 goals between them that season.
An honest mistake from Abidal, which Cole happily saw the funny side of.
