How likely is a Rooney and Wilson strike partnership in the future?
The combination of Rooney and Wilson is an very interesting one, and one United fans would no doubt like to see in the future.
Wilson burst onto the scene last season with a brace on his debut against Hull City. Since then, he has struggled to hit the heights he initially set but has still shown signs of promise and development.
Although it’s unlikely the youngster will be given another first team chance this season, he does stand a good chance of securing a regular spot if he can live up to his potential in the close season.
Rooney would be a perfect partner for the youngster and would definitely be able to offer the experience to ease him into the senior side.
If United, as expected, don't proceed with the purchase of Radamel Falcao then there will definitely be a space in the squad for him to stake a claim. Therefore, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Red Devil supporters could see Pearson’s dream become a reality next season.
