The Ivorian only signed for Roma three months ago.
The Ivorian striker was reportedly the subject of a 'significant offer' for the striker, according to renowned Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Roma had just sold Mattia Destro to AC Milan so were looking to bring in a new striker to compete for the forward positions.
Doumbia joined up with his international team-mate Gervinho at the Stadio Olimpico, after returning from African Cup of Nations duty with The Elephants. He cost Roma €14.4 million, as confirmed by the club at the time.
But it has not been a dream start to his Roma career. The striker struggled to settle at first, but recently scored his first and second goals for the club in the space of two games - his record is currently two in 10.
He has in fact been linked with a move away from the Gialorossi already. He was being linked with Tottenham Hotspur again recently, claims his agent has rubbished. Jean Bernard Beytrison told LaRoma 24:
"The future? Now is not the time to talk about these things, he's only been in Rome for two or three months.
"He wants to play, and he's demonstrated that it's easier to score when you're on the pitch. I'm sure that he won't have any more absences.
"He can score in Milan next week too and help the club get into the Champions League."
Doumbia is now set to be sticking around with the club for the near future, which is of course the sensible decision.
Next season he will be settled into things more at the Italian capital and the hope will be he starts the Serie A season with a bang.
If not, then Tottenham can lurk again in the winter.
