Could Falcao stay at Manchester United?
The Colombian is on loan from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, but has struggled at Old Trafford, scoring only four goals.
United's agreed option to buy at the end of his loan is unlikely to be met by themselves, nor matched by any other club as he has not matched the level of performance expected from a £40 million striker.
The Red Devils are however said to be considering extending Falcao's loan deal.
The Mirror report chief executive Ed Woodward is in touch with Monaco about this, with it claimed: "United are said to be willing to extend his loan until January to see whether he can recapture his best form after a summer of rest and then a full pre-season."
Falcao is in his first season since suffering a serious knee injury which forced him to miss last summer's World Cup.
His performances have shown him to be lacking a burst of pace, and he is also clearly low on confidence when he has started, beginning most games on the bench.
Prior to his injury he was regarded as one of the world's best strikers, and there may be enough intrigue to cause United to persist and give the deal one last shot.
It would not be good for United to risk allowing him to move elsewhere, particularly another Premier League side, but at the same time they must also consider whether to cut their losses and move on.
The prospect of keeping Falcao has caused a split reaction among fans. Here is a look at a cross-section of opinion...

Against popular opinion but would keep Falcao. Full pre season and no fitness worries - he'll be back. #MUFC— Karan Parakh (@karanparakh) May 6, 2015
