The Merseyside club are weighing up a summer move for the sprightly French attacker, according to L’Equipe.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has made it clear that a new striker that can consistently score goals for the Anfield outfit will be on his radar at the end of the season.

The latest centre forward being linked with the Reds is highly-rated Rennes man Paul-Georges Ntep.

L’Equipe state that the Merseyside outfit have been sending scouts to watch the French starlet and have returned back to the club with glowing reports.

The former France under-21 forward has been linked with Tottenham in the relatively recent past, with The Daily Star stating that the North Londoners were running the rule over the attacker in January.

The versatile attacker can play either as a centre forward or on the left flank and has ben impressing for the modest Ligue 1 outfit this season.

The 22-year-old Cameroonian born star has netted nine goals this season in the league and has put in a number of impressive showings, with his lightning pace specifically catching the eye.

With the Reds seemingly set to miss out on Champions League qualification, a clever recruitment drive will be needed this summer to get the club back amongst English football’s elite.
