Lionel Messi explains 'delight' about Champions League win against Bayern Munich

The Argentine superstar stole the show against Bayern Munich, and couldn't hide his joy at scoring the crucial goals for Barcelona.

Two goals and an assist from Lionel Messi, lead the late Barcelona charge against Bayern Munich, as the Catalan giants secured an impressive first-leg advantage, in the Champions League semi-finals.

Happy with what he considers a very positive result, speaking with broadcasters after the victory, via AS, the stellar Argentine maestro commented: "We had the good fortune to get a goal, the first, and after that the others came very quickly."

"We've taken a very good result ahead of the return leg, which is what we were looking for." He added with contentment.

There was know hiding his emotions after scoring that opening goal against Bayern Munich, who up until then, had stubbornly resisted the best that Messi could muster.

Asked about his euphoric celebrations, Messi explained: "I was delighted because of what the goal signified. We hadn't been able to score and it was a really important goal for the tie."

Despite the 3-0 advantage Barcelona will take to the Allianz Arena home of Bayern, for the second-leg, Messi urged caution, feeling Guardiola's side will still have something to say, before they bow out of the competition.

"Germany is a really complicated place to go. We've taken a really good result, but we've got to go there and we can't be over confident."

Lionel Messi will understandably be keen to let his feet do the talking, as Barcelona seek to finish the job against Bayern, and secure their place in the Berlin final.
