Rolando Aarons is set to return from injury in the coming weeks, but he is not the man to save Newcastle.
19-year-old Aarons excelled in his appearances at the beginning of the season, but he has missed much of the campaign due to a hamstring injury.
In total, the young winger has made just five appearances this term, but he is set to return to Premier League action in the coming weeks, having enjoyed a return to Under-21 matches.
There is a lot of pressure being placed on Aarons’ head to lead Newcastle away from their relegation struggles, and considering their current plight, it is no surprise that Magpies fans are looking towards the youngster.
There is no one else in their side who can inspire attacking plays such as Aarons, and right now, Newcastle need someone to take matters into their own hands and lead the club to safety.
However, Aarons is not that man, with the Magpies needing to improve their defensive work if they are to have any chance of staying up.
Whilst Aarons may bring a few more goals to the side, it is the defensive third that needs the most work done, with Newcastle shipping goals at an incredible rate.
The young forward can do nothing to prevent that, and the pressure being place on his shoulders to lead the club away from relegation could be too much for him.
There is not one person who can fix all the issues at the club, especially when that person is Aarons, with many problems being uncovered at St James’ Park.
With three games of the season left, Newcastle need stability and a way out of their turmoil, and the only way that can be found is by the team working together for the good of the club - not for the good of the players themselves.
