Sir John Hall has told The Chronicle that the Newcastle United fans should give their full support to the team for the final three matches of the season.
A number of Newcastle fans have boycotted the last two home matches, but Hall has urged the supporters to pack St. James’ Park for Saturday’s league encounter against West Bromwich Albion.
“The loyalty of the fans is under extreme pressure but I would appeal to all of them not to lose hope for it’s critical that in these frustrating times we, the fans, put aside all of our despondency and support the club in its hour of need,” Hall told The Chronicle.
“At the next two home matches please fill the ground and support the team and let the players know we are behind them as we always have been.”
While one can understand the fans’ frustrations, it is time for them to come together and support the team for the final three matches.
Newcastle’s performances over the past few weeks have been abysmal and the players have severely underperformed, but the supporters need to forget that for now and look forward.
Saturday’s match against West Brom at St. James’ Park will be huge, and the fans should give their full support.
After all, none of the Newcastle supporters will want to see their team play in the Championship next season.
