A player who would be a fine addition to Celtic's squad has been speaking about the recent speculation.
Those reports first surfaced when the same newspaper linked Ronny Deila’s side with a £1.5million summer bid for the Turkish forward, but he has now had his say.
“As a player I can never think of all the speculation in the papers or what people want to say about me,” Ciftci said. “If I did, life would be hard.
“Whatever happens, happens. I’m here right now and I have one more year left. I’m happy to stay if that’s what happens.”
With John Guidetti’s future likely to be away from Celtic, Deila will surely want to strengthen up front this summer, and in Ciftci he would be signing a young forward who scores regularly and can also operate on either wing if required.
With just one more year on his current contract at United, it would be no surprise if a few offers came in for him in an attempt to test the water.
But it is clear from his latest comments that he will not let such speculation affect him and that he will have no issues remaining at Tannadice if that is what ultimately happens.
As for Celtic, it is sure to be a busy summer, and with the right additions they could do even better in the upcoming campaign than they have this season.
