The Spaniard is good friends with current incumbent Adrian.
Napoli want the player, who is currently second choice to Manuel Neuer at Bayern Munich, who they had on loan throughout the 2013-14 season.
But in a report from Calcio News 24 it is also claimed that West Ham are keen on the player:
Of course Reina is a top class keeper but his signature would be a strange one from West Ham. Current stopper Adrian has shown some good form this season and replacing him would certainly be an odd move. Reina is unlikely to leave Bayern to sit on the bench at the Boleyn Ground.
Reina is also close to Adrian. When the current West Ham stopper first joined the club it was Reina who talked him into the deal. Adrian told the Daily Mail at the start of the year:
"I know Pepe very well and I spoke with him before I signed for West Ham.
"He told me: 'Do it, don’t hesitate. The Premier League is a great opportunity and you’ll enjoy it hugely just as I enjoyed those years at Liverpool'."
So this certainly would be an odd transfer, considering the lack of need for Reina and the fact he would not want to usurp his friend from his number one spot at West Ham.
Surely a non-starter.
