Newcastle fans urge Carver to play the youngsters against West Brom

The Newcastle faithful want change and some of them were impressed enough by what they saw on Tuesday night.

A number of Newcastle United fans took to Twitter with what they saw as the perfect solution for John Carver on Tuesday night.

Indeed, Newcastle's Under-21s beat Blackburn's Under-21 side 4-2 and featured a number of first-team contenders - such as Olivier Kemen and Rolando Aarons.

And some supporters saw enough to suggest playing them in the first team against West Brom this weekend.

After eight defeats in a row, Newcastle fans have naturally grown frustrated - to say the least - with their side and want to see change. Such is the obvious lack of heart on show within the senior side, however, they feel seeing Carver turn to the youngsters could be a better option v West Brom.

Kemen was positive on Twitter after scoring on Tuesday night, although Aarons warned that he is far from ready for regular first-team action...

And yet plenty of the Magpies faithful still see the young players - including Aarons and others such as Adam Armstrong and Lubomir Satka - as a better option than Newcastle's current strugglers.

It's an interesting prospect for Carver, who knows he'll face a tough task against West Brom with morale so low at St James' Park. Dropping his seniors could send a real message out. At the same time, it may be too much of a risk with possible relegation at stake.

To stick or twist against West Brom? Here's the view of some fans on social media...
