Manchester United and Tottenham fans react to Bale’s performance, Spanish press mock him

Manchester United target and former Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale had a poor game for Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale’s poor run of form for Real Madrid continued on Tuesday, as he struggled to make an impact against Juventus.

The Wales international started the first leg of the Champions League semi-final tie at the Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Much was expected of Bale in such a big game, but the former Southampton star failed to make a favourable impression.

The 25-year-old was on the pitch for 86 minutes, but he could only take 27 touches and failed to take a single goal.

Moreover, Bale created no chances and put in no successful crosses, although he did have a laudable pass accuracy of 94%.

Madrid lost the game 2-1, but they still have a good chance of progressing to the final of the Champions League.

A 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg will do the trick for Los Blancos, but Bale needs to step up his game.

The Welshman is on the radar of Premier League giants Manchester United, according to The Mirror, but based on Tuesday’s performance, it is hard to see the Red Devils make a move for him in the summer transfer window.

However, United fans still seem to think that Bale would be a good addition to the squad, as they posted their opinions about the former Spurs star on social networking site Twitter after the match.

Tottenham fans blamed Madrid for Bale’s poor performance on Twitter, while Spanish sports paper AS mocked him when he was being substituted.
