The 28-year-old moved to Parkhead in 2010 and enjoyed a strong debut against Motherwell, a moment he will always cherish.
Of those playing that day, two spring to Izaguirre's mind: Shaun Maloney and West Brom-owned Georgios Samaras. And it's Samaras he says 'always supported' him.
The Greek forward enjoyed six years at Celtic after an initial loan spell from Manchester City but was then released, after which he joined Premier League side West Brom. He has since left the Baggies on loan for a spell with Al-Hilal.
The Honduran told the Celtic view: “I remember the match. I started training with Celtic on August 27 and played two days later on the 29th. I was very nervous before this game because I had just signed.
“I remember Shaun Maloney playing and Georgios Samaras as well and he always supported me. I tried my best and tried to concentrate and win the game. Afterwards I was very happy with that moment."
Samaras endured a difficult few months at West Brom after leaving Celtic last summer but is remembered far more fondly by the Hoops faithful.
And, of course, Izaguirre himself.
The 28-year-old doesn't look as though he'll be going the same way any time soon, with the left-back recently declaring his desire to stay at Celtic for as long as he can.
