The Celtic boss has given a glimpse of the type of side he wants next season.
Celtic manager Ronny Deila has been speaking about the prospect of bringing new players to the club this summer, and his comments about what potential new targets should bring to the club are likely to excite Bhoys supporters.
In comments given in the build-up to Celtic’s clash with Aberdeen this weekend and later published by the club’s official Twitter account, Deila gave a hint at what kind of player he is looking for, without naming names.
When asked about the prospect of Celtic attracting new players, the manager said, “We are looking at every aspect, we need a team that scores a lot of goals.”
This season Celtic have netted 78 times in the Scottish Premiership, 22 more than their closest challengers in that regard, Aberdeen.
But with John Guidetti’s future unclear and Deila not wanting an overreliance on Leigh Griffiths, it would be no surprise if Celtic signed at least one new front-man this summer.
However, it seems from his latest comments that he wants goal-scorers across the field, meaning new wingers or goal-scoring midfielders could also arrive if the right ones are available.
With Celtic looking to push on in Europe next season, such additions could prove vital to their cause.
