Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Alvaro Morata's performance for Juventus

Linked closely with signing for Arsenal a year ago, Alvaro Morata is doing the business for Juventus.

Alvaro Morata made Real Madrid rue letting him leave by scoring against them for Juventus in a Champions League semi-final.

The Spanish forward netted the opener against the La Liga giants in a 2-1 first leg victory. It was his 12th goal of the season in all competitions.

Morata cost Juventus £17 million last summer, a sizeable fee, similar to the amount Arsenal paid to sign Danny Welbeck from Manchester United.

The Gunners had been the side other than Juventus most heavily linked with his signature. The Express reported in late 2013 that Arsenal had even agreed a six month loan deal for his services.

The Metro even reported this March that Arsenal are still in contention to sign the striker, should Juventus look to sell him for a profit this summer.

That would seem unlikely especially with Real having a buy-back clause available, and that's one they may wish they had exercised sooner.

The move has clearly been positive for Morata, for he is getting chances at Juventus he simply was not receiving at Real. He was second choice to Karim Benzema, fulfilling the role currently occupied by loanee Javier Hernandez.

His goal against Madrid stirred a reaction among Arsenal fans, who had seen the reports linking Morata to the club over recent seasons. Here's a look at how they reacted to his strike...
