Mauricio Pochettino has overlooked Mousa Dembele for months now.
Tottenham Hotspur's Mousa Dembele must be considering his future at White Hart Lane, with the Belgian missing out again against Manchester City.
Spurs lost 1-0 to City on Sunday and Mauricio Pochettino's selection choices over recent months would suggest that Dembele's time at the north London club is coming to an end.
The former Fulham man was overlooked again, at the expense of Paulinho, and he seems to have slipped right out of contention at Tottenham.
Pochettino had played Dembele in an advanced role earlier in the season, but the 27-year-old's showings there appear to have failed to convince Pochettino, placing his long-term future in doubt.
Dembele has now not started a Premier League match since way back in February and that is worrying, considering the form of some of the members of Spurs' squad.
Both Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb have shown signs of fatigue in recent weeks, but Dembele has still been unable to force his way into the team and it suggests that Pochettino does not rate the midfielder particularly highly.
It means that Dembele's future is likely to come into question this summer and with Stoke City's interest reported by the Sentinel in January, they may be wise to follow up their initial enquiries.
