Villa further improved their chances of staying in the Premier League last weekend with a gritty 3-2 victory over Everton at Villa Park.
Sherwood feels his side are still striving for a balance in their performances despite the progress which has been made since he came in as manager.
“We’ve had it for three or four weeks now. The performances have been fantastic and we just need to marry that with goals, we’re still nervy at the finish and it’s going to be tight,” said Sherwood.
The main aim for Villa under Sherwood is simply to stay in the Premier League and try to win the FA Cup final against Arsenal.
The manner of how Villa get over the line in the Premier League is less important, with a chance for Sherwood to work closely with officials at the club to improve things over the summer to improve the squad.
It will then be a case of getting off to a good start next season and trying to ensure that a similar season to the past one doesn’t develop.
Villa are currently a very entertaining side to watch and hopefully the nerves will ease over the next couple of weeks, if the club can put more of a cushion between themselves and the bottom three.
