Report: West Brom preparing move for Wolves striker Benik Afobe

Benik Afobe

Afobe has been in sensational form for Wolves, and West Brom now want him.

The young forward only joined Wolves in January, but the Daily Mail is reporting that West Brom are keen to add him to their attacking options this summer.

Having netted 19 goals in the first half of the season on loan with MK Dons, Kenny Jackett splashed out £2 million on the 22-year-old forward in January, bringing him to Molineux - and up to the Championship - on a permanent deal from Arsenal.

Whilst that gap in quality could show up many forwards, the young star took it in his stride, netting 13 goals in 20 games as Wolves just missed out on a play-off place.

His tally for the entire season is 32 goals, which is remarkable for any striker, let alone one who played for two separate clubs during that time.

Tony Pulis is said to be keen to add to his attacking options at the Hawthorns, although any deal may be scuppered due to how recently Afobe has signed for Wolves. The Championship club will surely want a large profit on any potential deal, and with Afobe becoming a key player for Jackett’s side, he could prove vital next season if Wolves want to push for a return to the Premier League.
