Vuckic is currently on loan with Rangers from Newcastle.
Speaking to the Evening Times, Vuckic has explained how he wants to spend next season with Newcastle, when his loan deal with Rangers expires.
The 22-year-old midfielder said: “I intend to return to Newcastle when my loan deal is finished and force my way into the team there next season. I still have a year left on my contract.”
Considering the performances that Vuckic has put in at Ibrox during his half-season loan stay, it is hard to deny that the Slovenian surely deserves a chance with the Magpies.
16 games have brought a return of nine goals, which is an exceptional tally for a wide midfielder, as well as two assists.
Despite only spending half the season with Stuart McCall’s side, he could quite easily become Rangers' top scorer of the season if he keeps up his goalscoring exploits into their Championship play-off campaign.
His loan deal expires after that campaign, and Vuckic will return to Newcastle, with whom he has yet to impress in 19 first-team appearances.
For Vuckic, his best chance of getting into the team would be if Newcastle are relegated this season, an occurrence that is looking more likely with each passing week.
Established first-team players are surely going to leave St James’ Park if the Tyneside outfit are in the Championship next season, leaving a place for Vuckic to make his name with the Magpies as a starting fixture in their main matchday squad.
