Cooper is confident that Leeds can mount a strong challenge in the top six of the Championship next season and feels it’s important the side comes back for pre-season in July confident and ready to hit the ground running.
“We are definitely a force to be reckoned with, but everything has got to click and I am sure it will do next year when we want to be successful,” said Cooper.
“Redders has said that our enthusiasm to stay in the league will get you promoted. We have got to do that and get that drilled into us and come back in pre-season in confident mood.”
Hopefully Leeds will start next season with a lot of current uncertainty surrounding the club having settled down.
For enthusiasm to keep Leeds in contention for promotion to the Premier League next year, everything needs to be settled with clarity of matters which are only creating additional questions at the moment.
There is uncertainty over the role of Redfearn and it’s arguable that changes are likely in terms of players coming and going, which will leave holes to be filled in the squad.
Enthusiasm is a key quality for any side to have but the quality also needs to be added in various parts of the squad, to ensure that Leeds aren’t affected when players are unavailable in important sections of the team.
Leeds can definitely send out a message with a good pre-season and if the majority of players have a spring in their step, it makes the job of the manager, whether that’s Redfearn or not, just a little bit easier.
