Two of Liverpool's bright young prospects have been talked-up by a teammate.
Ward has featured 33 times for Liverpool’s under-21 side so far in his career, while he has also represented Wales at every level from under-16 to under-21.
He put in a man-of-the-match performance when the Reds took on Leicester City earlier this week, but he was humble in his assessment of the game, instead pointing the attention towards two young players Liverpool fans have been getting excited about for some time.
Speaking about the possibility of beating Manchester United to the Barclays under-21 Premier League crown, the Liverpool ‘keeper said, “The likes of Sheyi (Ojo) and Ryan Kent have been on fire and all the boys are really doing well at the minute, so hopefully we can keep this momentum going and go on and win it.”
Ojo recently returned from a loan spell at Wigan Athletic, where he impressed with his pace and ability on the ball.
Kent is yet to be sent on loan but the 18-year-old winger-cum-striker is regarded as one of the very best young talents to come out of Liverpool’s academy for many years and he could be pushing for a first-team debut sooner rather than later.
The future looks very bright for Liverpool, with Ojo and Kent just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the next generation of players.
