Bacuna, who is a key component of the Aston Villa back four, echoes his manager’s thoughts, with Tim Sherwood telling talkSPORT after the win against Everton last weekend all that matters is his side focusing on their key duties.
“It doesn't matter if we play against Man City, Arsenal or Everton we're going to play in the same way,” said the defender.
“We have to get out there and show our own fans that we can do it and win the game. The fans were brilliant. They are our twelfth man and that's really important for us.”
Villa have been a very entertaining side to watch in recent weeks because they haven’t shown any fear in the face of a massive challenge.
They are still facing the possibility of relegation down to the Championship, but are playing like a side with real freedom.
Credit has to go to Sherwood for the mentality and style that Villa are playing with because he’s lifted the weight and responsibility off the shoulders of his players.
He’s encouraging them to play to their strengths rather than worrying about the fear of losing and the possibility of what might happen next season.
When the side play like that, the fans will always respond and hopefully the club can get themselves into a position where this season never repeats itself.
