Arsene Wenger says Danny Welbeck will not be out of action for long.
Arsene Wenger has told Arsenal's official website that the injury which kept Danny Welbeck out of the club's win over Hull City is not serious.
Welbeck did not even feature on the bench for the 3-1 victory, but could recover in time to haunt former club Manchester United once again.
The Arsenal manager said: "It’s a question of days, it’s an inflamed knee."
Welbeck may be dicey to make it for the May 11 home game against Swansea City, but their match at Old Trafford against Manchester United on Sunday May 17 looks far more achievable.
The England international scored the winning goal against Manchester United in the FA Cup in March, and Louis van Gaal would not relish a repeat of those circumstances.
Arsenal are likely to head into the game pressure free, and it will be United who will need the win more, with Liverpool suddenly on their trail in the race for fourth place, after the Red Devils lost three games in a row.
Welbeck will of course feel he has already proved his point, and won't rush back before he is ready, as he has another big game he does not want to miss, the FA Cup final 13 days later.
He is no certainty to be selected however, and may need to make another big impression against United in order to convince his boss.
