The Spain international feels Arsene Wenger’s men are good enough to become English champions next season.
The North London outfit had been in the title reckoning up until recently, but relinquished any ambitions with Chelsea’s 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium a couple of weeks ago. The Blues have since been named as the season’s champions.
However, after an inconsistent start to the campaign, Arsenal have been in excellent form over the last couple of months and fired themselves from languishing outside the top four into a position where they could have been crowned English champions.
Crucial midfielder Santi Cazorla has stated that the club want to go one step better next season and have the ability to become English champions in 2015-16.
“Of course we want to win the title next year, but second place this season is for now the most important thing,” the former Malaga playmaker stated on Sky Sports after the Hull victory.
“We want to finish in the Champions League places and win the FA Cup final.
“The team is in a good moment and we want to keep this level up until the end of the season.”
Arsenal are tied on points with outgoing champions Manchester City but have a game in hand, which they face Sunderland in.
Cazorla has been a crucial member of the Gunners’ starting XI this season, with the Spaniard forming a formidable central midfield partnership with Francis Coquelin of late.
