The British newspaper has reported that the Englishman informed his bosses in a meeting today that he is committed to the club for the 2015-16 campaign.
Derby were in contention of making the Championship playoffs until the final day of the season, but they eventually failed to do so.
The report claims that McClaren “has confirmed to the club he wants to once more attempt to earn promotion from the Championship, having missed out on the play-offs this term in excruciating circumstances.”
The Daily Mail also reports that the former Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest manager will hold discussions with his players on Tuesday about how to move on with things in the summer.
This means that McClaren will not be available to take charge of Premier League outfit Newcastle United in the summer.
