Newcastle United fans react on Twitter to the John Carver decision

Newcastle Utd - Gate

Newcastle United fans are not happy that John Carver will remain in charge of the team for the final three Premier League games of the season.

Newcastle United released a statement on their official website earlier today in which they made it clear that John Carver will remain the club’s head coach for the rest of the season.

The 50-year-old Carver has come under pressure following Newcastle’s disappointing run of results under him.

The Magpies have lost their last eight league matches and find themselves just two points above the relegation zone at the moment.

Following the 3-0 defeat to Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, Newcastle are 15th in the league standings with 35 points from as many matches.

However, the Newcastle bosses have maintained their faith in Carver, and believe that he is the right man for the team’s final three games of the 2014-15 Premier League campaign.

“Following the result at Leicester City on Saturday, there has been two days of frank dialogue with John Carver and senior players,” read the statement.

“The outcome of those discussions is that the board, John Carver, his staff and players are absolutely focused on our current situation and the three hugely-important fixtures that remain this season, two of which are at St. James' Park.

“All parties accept responsibility for the current situation but are determined, together, to ensure this Club - your Club - retains its Premier League status. That is the only focus at this time.”

The decision has not gone down well with the Newcastle fans, who are worried that the team will go down to the Championship at the end of the season.

Following the announcement regarding Carver’s immediate future, Newcastle fans took to social networking site Twitter to vent their frustrations and anger.
