Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat eyes future return to Feyenoord and ADO Den Haag

Daryl Janmaat joined Newcastle United from Feyenoord in the summer of 2014.

Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat has told that he hopes to return to Feyenoord and ADO Den Haag one day.

Janmaat started his career at Dutch club ADO before going on to play for Heerenveen and Feyenoord.

In the summer of 2014, the Netherlands international right-back joined Newcastle and has been one of the better players for the team this season.

According to, Janmaat’s current contract with the Premier League outfit runs until June 2020, which means that he is unlikely to leave in the summer transfer window.

Janmaat is only 25 years of age, but he is already looking ahead to the next few years of his career.

“If I think about it now, I would like to return to Feyenoord and ADO if I return to the Eredivisie,” the Dutchman told (as translated by Insidefutbol). “We will just have to see how I fit I am, because I am still very young.”

One suspects that at the moment Janmaat’s focus is on Newcastle and their current plight.

John Carver’s side have lost their last eight Premier League games and are just two points above the relegation zone at the moment.

The situation at St. James’ Park is dire, and it is high time that Janmaat and the rest of the players step up their game.
