The midfielder helped MK Dons to a superb promotion this afternoon.
Tottenham Hotspur completed an excellent piece of business when they agreed a deal to sign Dele Alli in the winter. According to the BBC the club agreed to pay £5 million for the 19-year-old, sending him back to Milton Keynes on loan for the rest of the season as part of the deal.
The England youth international has had a fantastic season for Milton Keynes, scoring 16 goals in 44 appearances and being nominated for the League One Player of the Year award, coming in second to Preston striker Joe Garner.
But he did not finish second to Garner in the league. Milton Keynes have finished second in League One after a fantastic recent run of form which saw them leapfrog Preston into second place in the division, and secure promotion to the Championship.
They did so in style, beating bottom club Yeovil 5-1 at the Stadium:MK to finish second to Bristol City in the table.
Obviously Alli was delighted at the result, showing his happiness after the game on Twitter.
Perfect way to end a perfect year! Gunna miss these boys so much #thedonsaregoingup pic.twitter.com/8zPwA9B5q7— dele alli (@dele_alli36) May 3, 2015
But he was also clearly upset as well. This was of course his last game with Milton Keynes, a club he has played with since the age of 11.
Now he will hope for similar success at Tottenham, and Spurs fans will hope so as well.
