Former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh has taken to social networking site Twitter to predict that John Carver will lose his Newcastle United job today.
Marsh made the comment on Saturday following Carver’s outburst in the media in the aftermath of Newcastle’s eighth successive defeat in the Premier League.
"I thought he'd done that on purpose - it looks like he did,” the 50-year-old told BBC Sport. "The ball was off the pitch - he had no need to make the challenge. He will miss two games. Is it an easy way out?”
Marsh has now predicted that Carver will lose his job as the Newcastle head coach today.
ION: I will be highly impressed if John Carver lasts another 24 hours as Newcastle manager...— Rodney Marsh (@RodneyMarsh10) May 2, 2015
It is a bold prediction from former England international Marsh, but could it come true?
Newcastle have lost their last eight Premier League games and are just two points above the relegation zone at the moment.
Hull City and Sunderland, who are below the Magpies in the league table, have a game in hand.
Moreover, Carver going public with his accusation about Williamson is a sign that he has lost control of the Newcastle dressing room.
