Former Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo hit a hat-trick during Madrid’s 3-2 win over Sevilla.
Real Madrid idol Cristiano Ronaldo broke another personal goal-scoring feat on Saturday as he took his all-time La Liga goal scoring record against Sevilla up to 19 strikes – more than against any other club.
The Portuguese superstar headed into the encounter under immense pressure to perform due to his much-publicised sulk in the recent 3-0 win over Almeria.
The Almeria clash was the 30-year-old’s second La Liga game in quick succession without a goal, allowing Lionel Messi to momentarily overtake him in the race for the Spanish top scorer honours.
Trailing his Argentine rival by two goals, Ronaldo delivered the perfect response as he netted a clinically-taken hat-trick in Seville and helped his side claim a vital 3-2 victory.
The Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium is a tough place to go, as Barcelona recently found out as they were held to a 2-2 draw which stretched Sevilla’s unbeaten home run to an astonishing 38 matches.
However, Ronaldo seemingly has no problems in breaking the Sevilla rear-guard as his hat-trick took his overall tally to 19 goals against Unai Emery’s side – more than any other Spanish club.

Since trading Manchester United for Madrid in 2009, the once Sporting Lisbon academy product has broken numerous goal scoring records in the face of extreme pressure.
Yet, one record which remains elusive to Ronaldo is Barcelona ace Lionel Messi’s best ever 50-goal haul in a single La Liga season.
With just three rounds of fixtures remaining, the former United hero needs another eight goals to at least equal the record – a doable feat if Madrid can really turn it on in the season finale.
