Nottingham Forest ended what eventually proved to be a disappointing campaign with a defeat on Saturday.
Forest were looking to finish the 2014-15 Championship season on a winning note, but they slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City at the City Ground.
Cardiff midfielder Joe Ralls put the visitors in the lead after just 14 minutes with a volley, and 10 minutes later Eoin Doyle doubled the Bluebirds’ advantage.
The Welsh outfit conceded a late goal when Dexter Blackstock found the target and ended the game 10 men.
Forest finished the second in 14th placed with 59 points from 46 matches, following a bad run of results from the start of April.
The Reds won 15 of their 46 Championship matches, drawing 14 and losing 17. Dougie Freedman’s side scored 71 goals and conceded 69.
