Sergio Aguero once again proved the goal-scoring hero for Manchester City as the Argentine international netted the winner against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
The City front-man scored in the 29th minute, guiding home his 22nd league goal this season and keeping City in the race for second position in the process.
Tottenham would have been hoping to take advantage of Manchester United’s ongoing faltering form but instead they remain three points behind fifth-placed Liverpool will just three matches remaining.
Tottenham had 21 goal attempts in total but only five of those were on target. In contrast, City had 15 attempts, four on target and one that ultimately decided the game.
Spurs also bossed possession but Manuel Pellegrini’s men held firm and Tottenham will be left to rue missed chances in what was an exciting encounter and a suggestion that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be able to hold their own in the battle for a top-four place next season.
