Crystal Palace fans rave about Jordon Mutch after midfielder posts incredible stats

The former Queens Park Rangers midfielder impressed Palace fans against Chelsea.

All the attention was on Chelsea as they secured the Premier League title on Sunday afternoon. They did it courtesy of a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace and a one-goal win was just what they needed: minimum hassle to confirm a league title they have been waiting for for five years.

For many, then, ex-QPR midfielder Jordon Mutch's performance may have slipped under the radar.

Indeed, the 23-year-old has had his critics since joining Crystal Palace but impressed against the Blues.

Mutch produced a good display during his 61 on-field minutes - but it was the midfielder's work rate that really made him stand out.

  TeamTackles WonMinutes Played
Nabil Bentaleb Tottenham 4 90
Cesc Fàbregas Chelsea 4 90
Jordon Mutch C. Palace 4 61
David Silva Man City 4 90

Yes, as Opta stats show, Crystal Palace supporters were delighted with the former QPR man's efforts against Chelsea for good reason, as he won as many tackles as any other player in the Premier League on Sunday - having played far less minutes.

QPR supporters appeared divided on the subject of the sale of Mutch in January but largely seemed to support the idea as it simply hadn't worked out for him at Loftus Road.

Against the Blues, however, Mutch showed he may well work out as a Crystal Palace player.

The fight he displayed against the newly crowned Premier League champions - even in the face of defeat - was the kind of spirit fans have seen from the Eagles on a regular basis over the past couple of seasons (some Neil Warnock-led performances aside...).

Here, then, is what Crystal Palace fans made of the ex-QPR midfielder's display against Chelsea on Twitter!
