Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen and Manchester City's Samir Nasri compared

White Hart Lane 5

Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen and Manchester City’s Samir Nasri meet at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday in arguably the most intriguing Premier League fixture of the weekend.

While both teams now have little to play for, it’s still an opportunity for both to record a confidence-boosting victory and for the players to end the season on a high.

There are plenty of potentially key battles set to take place in north London, and one in particular will see Spurs ace Christian Eriksen face off against former Arsenal star Samir Nasri.

The French international traded the Gunners for City in somewhat controversial circumstances and he will be desperate for the Etihad outfit to finish above his former club this season.

However, if Nasri is to make an impression he will have to perform better than he has done for much of the season, as in comparison with Danish international Eriksen he doesn’t come out too favourably.

Samir Nasri 0.09 1.48 2.26 1.17 48.13 2.39 3.3 23

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, the former Ajax star outperforms Nasri in five key attacking midfield categories.

Over the course of the campaign, Eriksen has averaged more goals, shots and take-ons per Premier League encounter than his opponent.

Moreover, the White Hart Lane favourite has worked harder for his team and has shown willingness to perform defensive duties, illustrated by his average 5.41 ball recoveries per game.

Nasri has produced more key passes and accurate passes than Eriksen on average this season, but he is occasionally laboured in possession and has been dispossessed more frequently.

The Citizens playmaker has been sub-par at the Etihad over the past nine months, and his performances in the next four weeks could ultimately have a big say on his future at the club.
