Tottenham Hotspur's most recent addition has been speaking ahead of what could be his final match of the season for loan club MK Dons.
Alli signed for Tottenham in for £5million in the last transfer window, but he remained on loan with the Dons until the end of the current campaign, in a bid to help them earn promotion.
They are currently third in the division, one point behind Preston North End, who occupy the final automatic promotion place.
Alli’s temporary side are certain to at least be in the play-offs but they will be hoping to go one better when they face Yeovil Town in what could be a vital encounter.
Alli has scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists this season and he will be hoping he has a bit more in him to help his side over the line before turning his attention to life at White Hart Lane.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’ fixture, the 19-year-old said, “Being from the MK, the dream for me is to help this team get promoted. We’re ready and hopefully this is our year.”
He then looked ahead to the prospect of leaving his current side and heading to Tottenham.
“It’s going to be emotional having been here for so long,” he said. “It’s been a crazy year for me and I’ve achieved a lot.
“I’ve been really happy with everything but I’m going to keep working hard and hopefully achieve more in the future.”
Everyone involved with Tottenham is likely to be pleased with that statement, with Alli tipped for great things given his innate talent, but with him clearly aware that only with hard work can he reach the top of his game.
