Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has nothing to prove in terms of his quality.
In terms of his mental state, however, the Frenchman will be under pressure against Manchester City. Indeed, the speculation surrounding his future will need a response. And there would be no better response than a top performance against a big side.
Considering Lloris's quality, meanwhile, he and his defenders have been awful as a unit against City in recent seasons. It'll be up to the Tottenham man to guide his back four at the Lane.
Danny Rose is one man Lloris will need to instruct. The full-back has improved this season and been the subject of heavy praise. But, against the best teams, he can still be a liability.
Rose has vowed to play his natural attacking game against Manchester City but Jesus Navas will constantly have him under pressure at the back. Now is the time for the Spurs defender to show what he can do and prove he is working on his defensive lapses.
Like Lloris, 21-year-old Harry Kane's quality is nowhere near in doubt. But the striker needs to produce once again v a top side.
The Tottenham striker delivered the goods against both Arsenal and Chelsea this season but floundered recently against Manchester United.
The best way to celebrate his PFA Young Player of the Year award would be to bounce back against United's Manchester rivals. Should all three of Kane, Lloris and Rose be at their best, Manchester City will find it hard to beat Spurs - and that's exactly why the trio need to be at the pinnacle of their game.
