Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has told Sky Sports that there is no better Premier League midfielder than Fabian Delph.
Villa continued their fine form under Sherwood today, notching a 3-2 win over Everton at Villa Park to push them up to 14th place in the Premier League table.
Two goals from Christian Benteke and another from Tom Cleverley sealed all three points for Villa, who still sit just one point clear of the relegation zone.
On another great afternoon for Villa, there were a number of fine performances - but manager Sherwood singled out Fabian Delph.
The England international, 25, recently signed a new deal to stay at Villa Park and produced another outstanding display for Sherwood's men.
Now, with the former Leeds star's reputation growing by the week, Sherwood has told Sky Sports that he doesn't think any midfielder in England is better than Fabian Delph, and went on to list the many attributes that make Delph so impressive.
"I'm not going to go over the top here, but there ain't a better midfield player in the country at the moment than Fabian Delph," said Sherwood. "He's got everything. He breaks the game up, he moves it really well, he's got trickery, he bursts through holes with the ball, he runs with - he has everything to his game, and he can score."
Delph may not grab the headlines like team-mate Benteke does, but he will be just as important in the Villa midfield for the rest of the season as Sherwood bids to keep the club in the top flight.
