A minority of Liverpool fans are not pleased with their current manager.
Liverpool have struggled recently for their best form. The club lost to Hull City in the week and drew 0-0 with West Brom at the weekend. The week before that they lost to Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-final so it has certainly been a difficult week at the club.
That has led to some dissent among fans and some conjecture over the future of Brendan Rodgers.
That comes despite working wonders last season, nearly guiding Liverpool to the title ahead of Manchester City.
So surely no Liverpool fans are desperate to see him gone. Not desperate enough to fly a banner over Anfield today.
That however is exactly what will happen this afternoon when Liverpool take on QPR.
There will be #RodgersOut banner flying over Anfield tomorrow. Let's get the message out there. We will not stand for mediocrity anymore.— #RodgersOut (@RodgersOutClub) May 1, 2015
A massive thank you to all of the Liverpool fans who contributed for the plane and banner. Together we will achieve our goal. #RodgersOut— #RodgersOut (@RodgersOutClub) May 2, 2015
The Rodgers Out Club have confirmed that they are flying a plane over Anfield with the message 'Rodgers Out' adorning it. They have even shared a picture of the banner ahead of it's voyage.
Last season Liverpool fans criticised Manchester United fans for flying a similar plane over Old Trafford regarding David Moyes, so United fans are likely to be reveling in this moment.
However, the banner is likely to get booed by Liverpool fans present this afternoon - which should help it lose some of its credibility.
About to leave for Anfield, hope this Rodgers banner supposedly flying over the ground is called off as it's embarrassing to club & fans.— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) May 2, 2015
