Nottingham Forest director Aziz Al Hasawi takes dig at Derby County after promotion capitualtion

The Rams lost 3-0 to Reading this afternoon, blowing their promotion chances.

Derby County have blown it. The Rams looked odds on to be heading to the Premier League earlier in the season but have now finished the campaign an astonishing eighth.

They were thrashed 3-0 by Reading this afternoon at the iPro Stadium, with Brentford benefiting from their failure, making it into the play-off places.

Considering the fact they had been in the top six since September before the day this is without a doubt a massive shock.

For one set of fans however, it is going down well.

Next season Derby will once again play the East Midlands derby with local rivals Nottingham Forest. Dougie Freedman's side ended up finishing the season in mid-table, despite a strong start under former boss Stuart Pearce.

When Forest beat Derby in January, thanks to a late goal from Ben Osborn, nobody felt at that time that Derby would not make it to the Premier League.

In fact, when one of the Al Hasawi clan commented on that result in January, he was roundly abused on Twitter.

Abdulaziz Al Hasawi was the man in question and he reminded Derby fans about their comments with a few retweets and a Tweet of his own this afternoon.

Adding extra spice to a derby that will be happening again next season.
