Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Manchester City will win Sunday’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur away from home in North London.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United striker believes that the defending English champions will have too much for Spurs at White Hart Lane.
“Spurs have only kept one clean sheet in their last 11 PL games and they have a poor recent record against the current Champions losing seven of the last eight between the sides in the PL,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Sergio Aguero has scored nine times in six PL games against Spurs and the visitors can pick up all three points in what promises to be an open, entertaining game.”
However, former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes that the match will end in a draw.
“I fancy goals (in this game),” he told Sky Sports. “I am going for a 2-2 draw, and I am going to go for Harry Kane for the first goal.”
Who will win: Tottenham or Manchester City?
Tottenham’s season is effectively over, while City need to pick up points in order to ascertain their position in the top three of the Premier League.
This means that Manuel Pellegrini’s side have more to play for than Spurs, but it does not mean that the hosts will not give it a fight.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be determined to return to winning ways, having drawn 2-2 with Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium last weekend.
While Tottenham’s record against City is poor, past stats will mean little on Sunday. It is all about which set of players plays better on the day.
