A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United take on West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford in today’s late kick-off, with a top-four finish and subsequent place in next season’s Champions League drawing ever closer.

United are currently seven points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool with just four matches remaining, and a victory today will see them almost certainly reach one of their season’s objectives.

In early team news, the BBC reports that United captain Wayne Rooney will be fit and available for the match despite suffering an injury against Everton last weekend.

Michael Carrick is still out though, as are Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans who have groin and sciatic nerve problems respectively.

In other news, a report from Talk Sport claims United are in pole position to sign Danny Ings this summer.

The Burnley striker is out of contract this summer and the report claims United have already held advanced talks with the 22-year-old’s representatives.

Ings has scored nine goals for Burnley this season, and he has netted 41 in total since arriving at Turf Moor.
