Kelvin Wilson compares Nottingham Forest teammate Ben Osborn to Celtic youngster Liam Henderson

Nottingham Forest defender Kelvin Wilson played with Liam Henderson during his time at Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.

Nottingham Forest defender Kelvin Wilson has told the club’s official website that his teammate Ben Osborn is similar to Celtic youngster Liam Henderson.

Wilson played with Liam Henderson, now out on loan at Norwegian club Rosenborg, during his time at Scottish giants Celtic.

“I think he can go as high as he wants,” the 29-year-old centre-back told Forest’s official website when asked for his opinion on Osborn.

“I played with one young lad at Celtic called Liam Henderson who is a really good player but, other than him, I think Benny is the best young player I’ve played with – he’s that good.”

Osborn is having a great season on a personal level and has been one of the best young players in the Championship this season.

The 20-year-old midfielder has established himself as an important figure in Dougie Freedman’s team and could become a top player in the coming years.

The England Under-20 international has scored three goals and created 69 chances in 36 Championship appearances this campaign, while having a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 58%.

Osborn, who made his league debut for Forest in 2013, has won 12 headers, 28 dribbles and 35 tackles in those matches.

Meanwhile, Henderson was sent out on a three-month loan deal to Rosenborg by Celtic in March.

The 18-year-old has made 23 first-team appearances for the Scottish Premiership giants, scoring twice since his debut in December 2013.

The teenage struggled for regular playing time at Celtic under manager Ronny Deila, but the midfielder’s talent remains unquestionable.
