One of Liverpool's bright young talents has been speaking about a recent post-match analysis from his club manager.
Brendan Rodgers’ side lost 1-0 to Steve Bruce’s men, all but ending their hopes of a top-four finish this season, and now the teenager has opened up on what was said in the dressing room.
Speaking about Rodgers, the 19-year-old said, “(He told us) just to continue the way we’re playing, to remember the identity of how we play and, most importantly, to try to get goals.
“(He talked about how) we need to keep playing as a team and why playing against teams like Hull, teams lower in the league, can be difficult on a Tuesday night.”
Manchester United’s back-to-back defeats against Chelsea and Everton meant Liverpool had the perfect chance to take advantage and beat Louis van Gaal’s side to Champions League qualification. But the Reds have faltered themselves, losing to Hull and drawing with West Bromwich Albion.
Along with their recent FA Cup semi-final defeat against Aston Villa, it has not been a good few weeks for Liverpool. But it is up to Rodgers to turn things around while he still has the chance to do so.
If not, someone else may ultimately be given that task…
