Fabrice Muamba: Newcastle lack leadership in defence

The former Premier League midfielder couldn't help but comment on Twitter while watching Newcastle.

Ex-Arsenal and Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba took to Twitter while watching Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon to pass comment on their faults while they were losing to Leicester City.

Muamba wouldn't have been the only one, of course, and he no doubt showed far more restraint than many desperately unfortunate Newcastle fans would have done on social media, with John Carver's woeful run continuing.

Within a minute, the Magpies were a goal down and soon it was two. That's when Muamba, clearly watching, singled out what he sees as Newcastle's biggest problem on Twitter.

Now, there are a number of faults within the St James' Park outfit from top to bottom but no one can dispute the nature of Mumaba's claim.

Daryl Janmaat has been an impressive performer for Newcastle this season but Mike Williamson has constantly been criticised for his dire form in a Magpies shirt. The same, of course, can be said of Paul Dummett.

Fabricio Coloccini is supposed to be the exception: the captain, the leader. All too often, however, the Argentine has let Newcastle down just the same.
