David Ginola: It would be ‘amazing’ to manage Newcastle United

John Carver is the current head coach of Premier League outfit Newcastle United.

David Ginola has told ITV that he dreams of managing Newcastle United one day.

Former France international attacker Ginola played for the Premier League outfit from 1995 to 1997 and made himself a popular figure among the club’s fans

The 48-year-old is currently taking his coaching badges with a view to moving into management, and he hopes to take charge of the Magpies some time in the future.

“That would be amazing,” Ginola told ITV at the BT Sport Industry Awards when asked if he would be interested in the Newcastle job.

“That would be an amazing story, obviously. Being one day the manager of Newcastle or Spurs, it would be just amazing. It's something I have in the back of my mind.”

Ginola is not equipped yet to become the manager of Newcastle, but perhaps in the future he could well find himself in the dugout at St. James’ Park.

The Frenchman enjoyed two good seasons at Newcastle and knows what the club is about, and his popularity among the fans means that he will be welcomed back at St. James’ Park.

While Newcastle are currently going through a bad period, Ginola's comments show that the club remain attractive to anyone wants to manage in the Premier League.

The Magpies are currently fighting for survival in the top flight of English flight, as they find themselves just two points above the relegation.
