Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at signing a new contract with the club.
On Friday, the 19-year-old put pen to paper on a deal which will see him remain at United until at least June 2018, as announced on the club’s official website.
There is an option to extend that contract by another year, which means that the midfielder seems set to stay at United for a long time.
Pereira joined United’s academy system in 2011 and progressed to the first-team squad at the start of this season.
The Brazil Under-20 international made his debut for the Red Devils’ first-team against MK Dons in the League Cup in August and played his first Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in March.
The youngster is rated highly and is expected to develop into a top-quality midfielder in the coming years.
Following the announcement of the contract, Pereira took to social networking site Twitter to express his delight.
