Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela says he will stay at club, despite Inter Milan interest

The Argentine is looking to stay at White Hart Lane this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Erik Lamela has aimed to put to bed rumours regarding his future at the club by insisting he will be staying at Spurs beyond the summer.

The Argentine is quoted by talkSPORT yesterday as stating:

"I obviously see myself here [at Tottenham]," he said.

"Those questions are starting to be normal but I am very happy here and I see myself here."

Lamela was signed by Franco Baldini in 2013 as the main replacement for Real Madrid bound Gareth Bale. He cost the club a fee in the region of £30 million, according to the BBC. But the former AS Roma star has struggled to cement a regular spot in the Spurs first-team.

He struggled with injury throughout his debut term, playing just 17 times for the club in 2013-14, scoring once against Moldovan minnows FC Sheriff Tiraspol.

This season he has kept himself fit, playing 43 times. Despite his more regular playing time he has struggled to thrive in the Spurs first-team and rumours are abounding he could be on his way in the summer.

It was reported by the London Evening Standard earlier this week that Roberto Mancini wanted to bring him back to Italy with Inter Milan.

However, judging by Lamela's latest comments, he is all set to stick around at White Hart Lane for now.
