Southampton, Chelsea, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Liverpool all have players on loan in the Championship.
Loan deals are often criticised in England, but there is no denying that the two clubs involved often benefit.
The parent club guarantees that their player receives consistent playing time, whilst the receiving club usually secures the services of a player who is better than the majority of the division.
Watford were the real team to utilise the loan market two seasons ago, following the Pozzo takeover of the club. Bringing a host of players from sister clubs Udinese and Granada, the Hornets reached the Championship play-off final - largely thanks to the goals of one Matej Vydra.
The loan rules were changed after Watford utilised them to their advantage, and the majority of the key stars signed permanent deals in Hertfordshire.
Vydra is back at Vicarage Road this season - although only on loan - and he has helped the club secure automatic promotion to the Premier League.
The Hornets can win the Championship title if they defeat Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow, but Vydra is celebrating himself today - being his 23rd birthday.
So to celebrate the golden boy of the Golden Boys, we take a look at the best Championship loan XI this season.
