The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is ready to leave the club this summer.
They reported that Manchester United were on the brink of agreeing a £21.5 million deal for the German international, beating the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City to his signing.
Of course it is not the first time United have been linked with the player. Previous reports of imminent deals however have often proven not to be true, but this seems like the most credible yet.
So is Gundogan on his way to United?
Yesterday it was confirmed by Borussia Dortmund that Gundogan would indeed not be signing a new deal at the club, with his contract expiring in 2016.
They claim that United will go as high as €30 million for the midfield maestro, who would add some much needed depth and quality in the United midfield.
Gundogan only returned to action after a year out in October with a trapped nerve in his back which seemed to threaten his career.
