A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Liverpool Football Club this Friday morning.

There is plenty of rumour surrounding possible transfer deals involving Liverpool this morning, and one concerns a target they have been linked with for quite a while in Manchester City's James Milner.

According to the Daily Telegraph, if Liverpool fail to qualify for European competition next season then it could put any agreement at risk. The Reds are hoping to sign Milner on a free transfer at the end of the season when his contract at the Etihad Stadium expires.

The Telegraph also reports, along with other papers, that Daniel Sturridge will head to Boston to have an operation on a hip injury that has kept him sidelined since the start of the month when he was substituted in a FA Cup win over Blackburn Rovers.

The injury is likely to keep him out for the remainder of the season, with the club hoping that the England international will be fit enough for the start of pre-season.

The Guardian has confirmed that PSV Eindhoven forward Memphis Depay is a top target for the Reds, while the Daily Mirror say he is 'primed' to head to Anfield, and is likely to use up a large part of the transfer budget at the club's disposal in the summer.

The Mirror also report that if the Reds were to sell Raheem Sterling in the summer to Manchester City for around £50 million, then they could target Aston Villa's Christian Benteke - who is valued at £30 million by their manager Tim Sherwood.
